In the Autumn of 2010 (18th Sept) I went to the Tring Reservoirs.  As well as the usual migrants such as the Sand/House Martins and Swallows there was also a Black-necked Grebe, despite the distant view it was still a fantastic bird and a tick.  A Dunlin was also at Wilstone Reservoir on the mud expanse in the eastern corner of the Reservoir.  Startop's End Reservoir had a Greenshank feeding on the exposed mud near the hide together with a Common Sandpiper.  My next visit was to College Lake were I found a Hobby perched in the trees on the eastern bank.  The final reservoir (Pitstone Reservoir) had 6 Little Grebes, and a sleeping Red Fox.
